Gone Fishing Charters on Summer Vacation

Catching Tampa Redfish in the heat of summerStarting today, July 26th, Gone Fishing Charters will be shutting down operations for summer vacation. Fishing will resume on August 17th.  There are 9 good tide days at the end of August so if you have an interest in chasing redfish, fishing should be respectable.  I will also be running some night trips in late August, fishing lighted docks for snook, trout and redfish.  If you have an interest in booking a trip, I will be available by both cell phone and email during the next few weeks. Enjoy the rest of the summer.

Seminar - July 19,2012 - What Fish to Target in the Heat of Summer

Summer snook Fishing in TampaTampa Fishing for Near SThis Thursday Evening, July 19th at Marino's Marina in Palm Harbor (Ozona), at 6:30PM, I will be giving a seminar on what fish are biting in the heat of summer. Most inshore anglers consider spring and early summer prime time to pursue many of their favorite gamefish, and with good reason.  March through June offers up a wide range of targets.  As summer heat settles in however, many anglers find the action slows a bit.  The big seatrout aren't nearly as abundant, the snook bite starts to cool off a bit and, although redfishing is typically still quite good, many anglers just slow down their fishing activity.  For those of you fishing addicts who feel the burning need to get on the water right now, I'll discuss several entertaining options for you...all of which have the potential to put a good bend in your fishing rods.  Beer and drinks will be available and any purchases made at the marina after the seminar will be discounted 10%.  I look forward to seeing you there.

July 2012 Split Cost Charter

Breeder Redfish on Tampa Fishing CharterIf you want to go inshore fishing in July but don't want to pay the full cost of a charter, you might be interested in splitting a trip with another angler. Costs are as follows: 4 hour trip - $237.50 / 6 hour trip - $287.50 / 8 hour trip - $337.50.  If you choose to bring an additional angler on your side of the split, add $25 to the above prices.  Each side of the split can bring a total of 2 anglers so there will never be more than 4 anglers on any split charter.  Best days still available this month are July 16th, 17th and 25th.  If you have an interest in splitting a charter, please respond to this email with the following information: what days you can fish and how long you would like to fish for. Thank you.
