Seminar on Winter Fishing for Redfish & Sheephead - February 2012

This Thursday Evening, February 2nd,  at 6PM, at West Marine in Clearwater, I will be giving a seminar on Winter Fishing for Redfish and Sheephead.  The store telephone number is (727) 447-5320 if you need directions. Although this winter has yet to get real cold, both of these fish represent significant targets in February.  Remember to bring a recent "best catch" photo in order to be entered into a drawing for a West Marine gift certificate. As always, drinks and pizza will be served.  I look forward to seeing you there.

Tackle for Sale

Due to some warranty issues that I had with my inshore fishing rods last year, I returned them rather than put them up for sale.  As  a result, I have much less product to sell this year.  What I have right now is 3 Symetre 4000 Reels, by themselves, with no line.  They are a year old and retail for between $95 and $100.  I'm selling them for $50 each.  I also have two of my kingfish rod and reel set ups for sale. Rods are less than a year old, reels are probably a year and a half old.  The reels are Shimano Spheros 6000's and the rods are Daiwa Coastal # CC701HFS.  These are usable inshore but a little on the heavy side.  I use them for kingfish, bonita, cuda, cobia shark etc.  These reels retail for $129 and the rods for  $72 and I am selling these at half their retail price or $100 for each set up.  All of this equipment can be returned to me in 30 days at no charge if you are not happy with your purchase.  Let me know if you have an interest in any of this tackle.

January 2012 Split Cost Fishing Charters

Tampa fishing for big troutFor any of you interested in a split cost fishing charter in the month of January, please let me know in the next few days. Simply respond to this email. I'll do my best to get you paired up with someone as quickly as possible.  The best fishing days in the coming month are January 8th through 13th and January 20th through 26th.  This most recent cold front should have definitely pushed more big trout into our local area, so as temperatures warm back up, the bite should be on. Redfishing for low to mid slot sized fish was good right before the last front so chances are good that a few redfish can be found as well.
