Seminar March 2013 - Near Shore Kingfishing

Nice March kingfish on Tampa Fishing CharterTomorrow promises to be our last cold weather of the winter.  As March waters warm, bait returns and kingfish usually aren't too far behind...typically showing up mid to late month.  This Thursday, March 7th, at 6PM at West Marine in Clearwater, Florida, I will be giving a seminar on catching kingfish. Unless near shore waters are dirty, large kingfish can be caught remarkably close to the beach.  Seminar topics will include tackle and presentations used to target these fish.  As always, West Marine will provide free pizza and drinks and will give away various store items including a gift certificate.  I look forward to seeing you there.

Captain Dean Parks Classic Memorial Fishing Tournament

On January 10th, a fellow captain and friend of mine, Captain Dean Parks, passed away from a heart attack.  In his honor, and in an effort to raise funds for his fiance Amanda and their two children, Marlee and Fisher, there will be a fishing tournament on March 30th.  With a good high tide mid afternoon, we decided to run the tournament from 11AM to 4PM to maximize fish catching opportunities.  There will be no prizes in this tournament as our goal here is to just have a good time and raise as much money as possible. If you would like to participate in your own boat, the entry fee is $125.  This includes 4 free dinners at the Ozona Pig Restaurant in Ozona, Florida on the evening of the tournament.  There will  be plenty of good food and music to be had at "The Pig" following the tournament.  Should you want to fish with a captain, the charge is $450 for 4 people.  Dinner for 4 is included on a guided boat as well. As this is a fund raising tournament, all payments  and tips to the captains will be donated. I am looking for a crew for the tournament so if you would like to participate, simply respond to this email.  I will take the first person or group that responds. When you do respond, please let me kow if you would be willing to fish with another captain as well.  If so, I will try and get you lined up. For more information on Dean and the tournament (registration forms included), simply go to www.captaindeanparksclassic.com. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.

Split Cost Fishing Charter - February 2013

Big Trout on Tampa Fishing CharterIf you have an interest in splitting the cost of a fishing charter with another angler in the coming month, please let me know.  I will do my best to pair you up.  Costs for a 4. 6 and 8 hour split cost charters are $237.50, $287.50 and $337.50 respectively.  Each side of the split can bring a total of two anglers.  Should you choose to bring someone with you, the charge for the extra person is $25.  It typically takes a week or two to arrange a split charter so please bear this in mind when planning your trip.

As of right now, I have an angler interested in splitting a trip on February 23rd.  It's a Saturday.  Tides are good.

Thanks and good fishing.
