Tampa Fishing for the exciting snookAfter our record setting cold temperatures of two winters ago, snook didn't show up on northern Pinellas County beaches until  late May last year...at least a month later than normal.  Although few snook were seen in St Joseph's Sound this spring, fish are now starting to gather along local beaches and passes...almost a month earlier than last year.  The recovery has begun!!  Freelined whitebaits have been the ticket all week, but small ladyfish, shad and grunts will be eagerly consumed.  As is always the case for snook, fishing will be best during periods of high water movement.  The week beginning May 15th has monster tides and should provide an outstanding opportunity to put good numbers of fish in the boat.
