The most typical application would be for tying a hook to a leader where the leader strength is greater than 30 pound test.The Grouper Knot is used for a line to hook connection.
Run the leader through the hook eye.
Take the line end and make a loop around the line.
Make another loop around the line.
Take the line end back under the line and run it down towards the hook and then back up though all of the loops
Hold hook and line end and begin to tighten. (A figure eight will form in the line)
Finish tightening.
Clip off tag ends of line.
